The 1990s were a prime time for automotive racing. especially with the creation of the extremely competitive Super Touring European-based racing circuit. In 1995. the Audi A4 quattro came on to the scene. revved up and ready to go. winning nine times. Despite having a small inline-four engine. the Audi crushed the competition in large part due to its quattro all-wheel-drive and superior handling at higher speeds.
